Tamia Cumbler is a literary agent at Redwood International Literary, where she represents a diverse list of authors across fiction and nonfiction. She is particularly drawn to character-driven literary fiction, upmarket commercial novels, narrative nonfiction, and thought-provoking memoirs.
Before becoming an agent, Tamia worked as an editorial assistant at a midsize publishing house, where she collaborated with editors on acquisitions, manuscript development, and author care. She holds a degree in English Literature from Columbia University and has completed the Columbia Publishing Course.
Tamia is passionate about championing bold voices and stories that challenge, delight, and resonate with readers. She works closely with her clients on long-term career strategy, offering hands-on editorial guidance and a strong commitment to advocating for their work in the marketplace.
When she’s not reading submissions, Tamia can be found moderating literary panels, recommending books to anyone who will listen, or hunting for the perfect first line.
